Rahan Lodge
Rahan lodge dates from 1745 when it was built by Henry Petty as a hunting base. Subsequent owners included the Earls of Shelbourne and the 5th Marquis of Lansdowne. The house was enlarged in1800 to become a country retreat. The Lodge is of local historical interest, mentioned in the published letters of Archbishop Murray which were addressed from here, in the published works of Sr. Oliver Wrafter and also of Patrick Meehen, Historian, a former owner of Rahan Lodge.
