Cork Midsummer Festival is a multi-disciplinary arts festival combining the best of local, national and international work. The Festival comprises of large scale free outdoor events, comedy, music, theatre, dance, visual art and much more. Art Fair 09 RDS 13-15 November www.rds.ie/rds/artfair09 Art Fair 09 will take place 13-15 November in the Main Hall of the RDS. With a long history from 1731 in showcasing and developing excellence in Art in Ireland, the RDS is delighted to include the Art Fair 09 within its ambit for the first time. Drawing on the legacy of Art Ireland, Art Fair 09 will include first time exhibitors and those who are well acquainted with the space and fine display conditions that the Main Hall offers. A programme of related talks and events is planned to compliment the exhibition of artwork from artists, galleries and practitioners from Ireland and beyond. The historic Taylor Art Award exhibition, conversation and lecture events add to this transition for the Fair. Tickets for Art Fair 09 RDS: If you would like a ticket to Art Fair 09 please email Emma O'Brien on emmao@rds.ie You will be added to our mailing list for upcoming events and tickets to Art Fair 09. Tickets for Art Fair 09 are €10.00 and are available at the door of the fair. The tickets are three day tickets. Ticket holders may return to the fair during the three days of the fair. Group discounts are also available. Dearc Art Exhibition: A Celebration of Great Irish Art and 150 years of the RDS Taylor Art Award
The RDS is delighted to announce the 150th Anniversary celebration of the RDS Taylor Art Award with a major retrospective exhibition of Irish Art entitled ‘Dearc 150’. The exhibition will take place in the RDS Concert Hall, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 from February 25 to March 20, 2011. ‘Dearc 150’ features work from 25 previous winners of the RDS Taylor Art Award including artists such as Walter Osborne, Sir William Orpen, Seán Keating and Louis le Brocquy. The exhibition will also feature work from contemporary artists such as James Hanley and Eamonn O’Kane. With painting, sculpture, installations and film screenings, there’s something for art lovers of all ages. The exhibition is accompanied by an exciting programme of lectures and tours in association with the National Gallery of Ireland.
